This morning Yin weighed in at 12.9 oz. and Yang at 12.3. I thought it seemed like she mostly napped yesterday, while he was eating non stop. Thought he might have caught her by now.

All continues to go well. Updates rather boring, I'm afraid. <g> This morning Yin weighs in at 11.5 oz. and Yang at 10.9 oz.

Toe nails

Well THAT was fun. (NOT) But we made it through. Two pups don't take too long. All back to sleep and cozy again.

Hanging out in the whelping box with Fada and babies. Putting entries for the upcoming BRAG trial into the database and watching pups wiggle around.

This morning Yin weighed in at 10.1 oz this morning and Yang at 9.5 oz. Yin is totally round! I think I need to give them their first toe nail trimming today. Will be posting photos later today, but did upload a bunch to the Picasa folders late last night/early this morning.

End of 2nd day. Had a good one. Fada is getting a little conflicted about wanting to be out and about with us, but also with babies. Babies win. Fada did get her post birthing bath this morning. She was very anxious to get back to the little ones. She really just leaves them to tell me she needs out and to eat. And eat, and eat... she is getting MANY small snacks, in addition to three meals of dog food. Her temp is staying normal, so all is well with her and babies.

Good morning! Day 2

We had a wonderful first night! Not a single peep of out of mom or pups all night. I think this is my first ever sleep through the night on a litter's first night. And from the sofa nearby, not even on the floor right by the box. Pups look full, fat and happy, which is what I want to see. Not sure I have peeked in and seen Yin NOT eating yet! So far, this is a delight. Which, of course, makes me nervous about things going TOO well. Since I have to worry about something. <G>

Her temp was 102.4 last evening. It is 101.8 this morning. Higher than it has been, but she is also laying with babies cuddled and near the space heater. I realized she wasn't coming out of her "nest " for her water dish, so this morning offered it directly to her and she drank a good bit. May have been her first water since the birth, other than on her food.

I have to insist she gets out and goes outside, but she is willingly coming out for food. She is taking yogurt and broth on a frequent basis and also eating her regular meals. So all in all, going pretty much perfectly. I'll take temps through today just to make sure, Fada is looking and acting fine. Puppies each weigh 8.5 oz today, so both gaining nicely. I actually don't get too concerned if pups go down slightly in weight the first 24 hours, but not these two!

I will post some photos here, but the bulk of the pictures will go on my Picasa site. I'll make folder for each pup week by week to keep them organized, as well as one for photos of pups together.

Good night

7.9oz girl! She had a double sac, and is darker/redder i guess (Maybe more dexter colored??). They think she is wire for sure - has some fuzzies around her neck. Hopefully picture from them soon!

Looks like we're in early stages of labor!

I decided to stay home from the hockey game. Fada's temp is down and she's been very restless, more uncomfortable than previously.

Fada's morning temp was 99.7, so looks like nothing happening yet. I have tickets for the hockey game tonight. Assuming nothing happening during the day, planning to go. Lianne will Fada-sit for me this evening.

Monday evening

Poor baby is very restless this evening. Going from bed to bed and scratching around. Her temp was back up to just over 100 at 4:30, so not likely to mean pups are imminent, but I do think the next 24-48 hours is likely.

Monday update

Temps so far. Nothing looking significant yet. Today is the first POSSIBLE day, according to progesterone levels at time of breeding. But doesn't appear likely at this point. Poor baby is cringing when she sees me pick up the thermometer.

She went into labor about 10:30 on 12/24, Piper arrived at 2:10AM on 12/25.

Starting tonight, sleeping in the living room with Fada (near the whelping box!). Poor baby just can't seem to get comfortable.

Last week?

Hopefully this is the week the Podlings will arrive! The whelping area is set up, I've been laundering all the bedding for it. Bought a cute little box yesterday for IN the whelping box, to provide a smaller "nest" area to keep puppies together with Fada for the first week or so. Started taking temps Friday, all looking normal for now.

Looking back in my notes from last time; Fada's temp did drop the day prior to whelping. Pup movement slowed, but she did continue to eat normally. We'll see what happens this time!
